Established in 1921, the CPC came to power with the founding of the People's Republic of China in 1949. Over the past century, the CPC has seen membership increase to more than 95 million from just about 50 when it was founded in 1921. It is one of the largest political parties in the world.
The year 2021 marks the centenary of the Communist Party of China.
