August is a peak season of leisure tourism in Qingdao. The Qingdao Olympic Sailing Marine Cultural Tourism Area which strives to build itself into a China national5A-grade scenic spot is wholly subject to high-standard upgrade and optimization. The area, which covers an area of525 square kilometers, and consists of the Qingdao Undersea World and the Olympic Sailing Center will launch a wide range of products themed marine sports marine science popularization and research travel coastal leisure and recreation and build itself into an international marine cultural tourism destination that integrates sailing coastal leisure cultural experience marine research travel and MICE tourism after completion.

The Olympic Sailing Center, home to several landmark sites, including the Torch Revenue, Lover's Dam, Blessing Lighthouse and Olympic Sailing Museum is currently China's only Olympic sailing-themed heritage site According to planning, the Lover's Dam region will be built into an internet-famous vigorous block and a popular site for Qingdao nighttime economy; the Yan’er Island Park will be transformed into a citizen park. Furthermore efforts are ramped up to utilize intelligent information technology tourism resources in scenic spots, hardware facilities intelligent operation and maintenance, vehicle and boat scheduling and passenger flow so as to build demonstration intelligent and innovative tourism projects.
