23 Brave Men from Qingdao Red Cross Rescue Team Rescue in Türkiye

Feb 10, 2023Byiqingdao

Tens of thousands of people have been died and injured by two successive strong earthquakes on February 6. Although thousands of miles away, the Türkiye earthquake still affects the hearts of the Chinese people. The Chinese rescue team and several Chinese social emergency forces are carrying out rescue work in the earthquake area.

After the earthquake, Qingdao Red Cross Rescue Team immediately responded, collecting and judging the information in the disaster area, and making a comprehensive evaluation of the team's equipment, personnel and technical level to determine the team to enter into disaster relief preparations. 23 volunteers, including the leader, the operation team leader, two operation teams, translators, informants, medical officers, and logistics support personnel, carried nearly 5 tons of rescue equipment, medical supplies and logistics support supplies to the earthquake area to ensure the smooth implementation of the rescue.

As a rescue team established for 15 years, the Qingdao Red Cross Rescue Team has accumulated extremely strong rescue capabilities, has stored a large number of international standard rescue equipment, and has participated in post-earthquake rescue in the world for many times.

After the rescue operation was determined, more than 50 team members actively signed up for the rescue. After comprehensive evaluation in many aspects, 23 volunteers were finally selected and a rescue team for earthquake relief in Türkiye was formally established.

The 23 brave men not only represent the Qingdao Red Cross Rescue Team, but also represent the rescue forces in Qingdao and China. We believe they will fulfill their mission and pray for more miracles!
