Jul 01, 2023Byiqingdao

On the afternoon of June 29, the "China in the Eyes of Bulgarians" Reading Sharing Meeting was held at the Chinese Cultural Center in Sofia.

Bulgaria is known as the Country of Roses, and Heze in Shandong is known as the Capital of Peony in China. Sun Wenli, Vice Minister of the Propaganda Department of the CPC Shandong Provincial Committee, pointed out in his speech that from the "Capital of Peony" to the "Country of Roses", although separated by thousands of rivers and mountains, each has its own customs, China and Bulgaria live together in the Eurasian continent, and their hearts reflect each other. In particular, since "the Belt and Road" initiative was put forward, the two sides have achieved fruitful results in cooperation in economy and trade, agriculture, science and technology, culture, education and other fields, writing a story of East and West integration and mutual learning of civilizations.

During the meeting, a new book “Q&A China” in Bulgarian version was released to show Bulgarian readers the past, present and future of China.

At the end of this meeting, there was also a gift giving session. Bulgarian roses are world-renowned, and peonies are also widely concerned and praised by the international community. Heze, Shandong is an important producer of peonies in China. Peony is not only the most representative characteristic industry in Heze, Shandong, but also a beautiful name card of "Hospitable Shandong and Remarkable Shandong". Shandong hopes to engage in more fields and all-round cooperation and exchanges with relevant units, and is willing to pass on the traditional friendship between China and Bulgaria.
