On the afternoon of October 18, the World Conference on Maritime Science and Technology 2023 opened in Jimo District, Qingdao, with the theme of "Trend of Smart Shipping Technology and Development". Fu Xuyin, Vice Minister of the Ministry of Transport, Fan Bo, Vice Governor of Shandong Province, Ling Wen, Academician of the CAE Member, Chairman of the Shandong Association for Science and Technology, Krystov Chaplewski, President of the IAIN, Wang Bo, Member of the Standing Committee of the CPC Qingdao Municipal Committee and Vice Mayor, and others attended the conference and delivered speeches.
During the conference, the China Institute of Navigation held a licensing event called "Smart Shipping Technology Innovation Community". 21 units, including the Chinese Institute of Navigation, issued the Proposal on Jointly Promoting "The Belt and Road" International Port and Shipping Sci-Technology Cooperation to the global port and shipping industry. The Academic Committee of the Conference selected the best papers and excellent papers, and conducted academic exchanges at four sub conferences.
It is reported that this conference is jointly hosted by the China Institute of Navigation, China Centre for International Science and Technology Exchange, Shandong Association for Science and Technology, China COSCO Shipping Group Co., Ltd., and Shandong Port Group Co., Ltd.
