(Reported on October 29) The 28th China Fisheries & Seafood Expo (CFSE) and China International Aquaculture Exposition opened on October 29th at the Qingdao Hongdao International Convention and Exhibition Center. Concurrently, the Sino-Dutch Fisheries Business Matchmaking Event was held as one of the key activities.

Founded in 1996, the China Fisheries & Seafood Expo has, after years of dedicated cultivation, grown into a world-leading professional trade show in the aquatic products industry, renowned for its scale and international influence. It serves as a national-level economic and trade platform for China to connect with the international seafood market and for countries worldwide to share in China's new development opportunities. This year's expo spans an area of 115,000 square meters, featuring globally influential aquatic raw materials, processed products, seafood, as well as aquaculture and processing machinery and equipment. It showcases the latest products, technologies, and trends in the global aquatic industry, fostering international fishery trade cooperation.

As a concurrent event, the "Sino-Dutch Fisheries Business Matchmaking Event" was co-hosted by the Embassy of the Kingdom of the Netherlands in China, the Qingdao Representative Office of the Netherlands Business Support Offices (NBSO), and the China Council for the Promotion of International Trade (CCPIT) Qingdao Sub-council. Over 50 Chinese enterprise representatives from sectors including seafood import and procurement, wholesale and retail, fishery farming and processing, cross-border e-commerce, and high-end hotels and catering services engaged in one-on-one business matchmaking talks with 8 leading fishery and seafood companies from the Netherlands, resulting in several preliminary cooperation intentions.

At the event, the "Partners for International Business (PIB) - China Seafood Market Development," a Sino-Dutch fishery cooperation project, was officially launched. This project will leverage the Netherlands' strengths in fishery technology, equipment, processing, and sustainable development to collaborate with Chinese partners in areas such as high-end seafood, sustainable aquaculture, and cold chain solutions, jointly shaping a sustainable, innovative, and high-quality future for global seafood trade.

Returning to the CFSE after several years, the Netherlands aims to strengthen Sino-Dutch trade cooperation, explore market opportunities, and promote its advanced experience across the entire seafood value chain. Karel, the Agricultural Counsellor at the Embassy of the Kingdom of the Netherlands in China, stated that the Netherlands' unique geographical location, situated on the coast of the North Sea and at the delta of three major European rivers, has nurtured a highly developed fishery system. As the world's second-largest agricultural exporter, the Netherlands sees vast potential for future export growth to China and will continue to organize Dutch enterprises to participate in the CFSE in Qingdao to further expand bilateral cooperation.
