Qingdao News Network, Nov. 1 (By reporter Ren Junfeng) — The art exhibition "Connected by Mountains and Waters, Soul Forged in Painting," jointly hosted by the Qingdao Public Space Art Promotion Center and Beijing Forestry University, opened at the Qingdao Sculpture Museum on November 1. The exhibition features over 100 pieces (or sets) of outstanding works by faculty and students from the School of Art and Design and the School of Landscape Architecture at Beijing Forestry University. The collection covers various categories, including traditional Chinese painting, oil painting, sculpture, and digital art.

Beijing Forestry University (BJFU) is a national key university directly under the Ministry of Education and is among the first group of universities to be included in the national "Project 211," the "Advantageous Discipline Innovation Platform," and the "Double First-Class" initiative. Adhering to the educational philosophy of "To know mountains and waters, to cultivate both trees and talents," the university emphasizes the integration of arts education with its academic disciplines. It focuses on nurturing innovative talents with both a scientific spirit and humanistic sentiments, making significant contributions to building a nation strong in education and advancing the "Beautiful China" initiative.

The artworks in the exhibition echo the university's academic characteristics and spiritual heritage. They not only demonstrate the fusion of traditional techniques with contemporary artistic language but also explore the innovative expression of spatial aesthetics and form perception in artistic creation, showcasing the deep-rooted foundation and vibrant vitality of the university's art disciplines.

As the first professional sculpture museum in China, the Qingdao Sculpture Museum has always been committed to its mission of connecting art with the public, striving to create an open, diverse, interactive, and inclusive public art platform. This collaboration is a significant practice in promoting positive interaction between academic resources from higher education institutions and public art spaces. It helps to share the achievements of university aesthetic education with society and fosters the integrated development of art education and public aesthetic education.

The exhibition will be open to the public for free until December 7. All citizens and tourists are welcome to visit.
