Qingdao West Coast New Area Offers Nearly 2,700 Jobs as "Thousand Talents for the New Area" Recruitment Drive Kicks Off

Nov 14, 2025Byiqingdao

QINGDAO DAILY / GUANHAI NEWS — The Qingdao West Coast New Area recently launched its 2026 "Thousand Talents for the New Area" centralized recruitment drive. The campaign offers nearly 2,700 positions to young talents from home and abroad, spanning various sectors including private enterprises, district-level state-owned enterprises (SOEs), universities and research institutes, and public institutions within the district's education and health systems. It aims to foster a symbiotic growth between talent and the New Area through a comprehensive, multi-layered talent attraction matrix.

This initiative establishes an integrated "online + offline" recruitment system. Offline, the New Area will organize the "Talent and Brains" Campus Recruitment Tour at over 30 prestigious universities in key cities such as Beijing, Shanghai, Guangzhou, Nanjing, Xi'an, and Harbin. These events will provide "one-stop" services including policy presentations, resume collection, and on-site interviews and contract signing. Meanwhile, permanent resume submission windows will be set up at the human resources markets in the eastern and western parts of the New Area. Online, 24-hour resume submission channels are available through WeChat mini-programs like "Zhi Hai Chong Lang" (Navigating the Sea of Careers), "Qing Xi Zhi Zhao Huo" (Smart Job Hunting in West Qingdao), and "Jiu Ye Chuang Ye Yi Zhang Tu" (Employment and Entrepreneurship Map), allowing candidates to secure their desired positions from the comfort of their home.

Starting from the actual needs of talents, the New Area has created a full-cycle, heart-warming service system. A green channel is opened for candidates from financially disadvantaged families, offering support such as exam fee waivers, free accommodation, travel reimbursement, and a caring transportation service for examinees. Youth Talent Hostels are fully open to meet the temporary housing needs of out-of-town candidates. At key moments—before, during, and after exams—the New Area provides personalized information, including basic information about the district, helpful reminders, and a special "'Meet-You' Notification Letter" (a creative term for an interview notification), ensuring talents feel the warmth and care of the New Area.

Notably, the New Area is committed to building a first-class talent ecosystem by introducing a range of innovative talent policies. It has established a "multi-dimensional evaluation" growth mechanism, breaking down the "three-onlys" barrier (over-reliance on only degrees, only titles, and only publications). This new system focuses on evaluating ability, performance, and contribution. A recommendation system for professional title applications has been implemented for outstanding talents in "Specialized, Fined, Peculiar and Innovative" (often referred to as 'little giant') enterprises. A "fast track" for professional title assessment is available for high-level talents holding the "Shandong Talent Card" or the "Qingdao Talent Green Card." The province has pioneered professional title evaluations for the industrial internet and integrated circuits sectors, recognizing 1,950 professionals in these fields. Additionally, 70 enterprises are encouraged to conduct their own skilled talent evaluations and engineering technology assessments.

Furthermore, the New Area focuses on providing a stage where talent can be effectively utilized, shifting from the traditional model of "attracting projects before attracting talent" to one where the industrial ecosystem attracts the talent ecosystem. It has prioritized the development of 25 national-level Postdoctoral Research Stations, 14 postdoctoral workstations, and 23 provincial and municipal postdoctoral innovation and practice bases, covering key industrial areas. An innovative "dual-employment and cross-sector" talent-sharing model between universities and enterprises has been introduced to promote the two-way flow of talent and deepen the integration of industry, academia, and research.

According to the announcement, applicants can apply directly for positions in private enterprises, universities, and research institutes by logging into the WeChat mini-programs "Zhi Hai Chong Lang," "Qing Xi Zhi Zhao Huo," or "Jiu Ye Chuang Ye Yi Zhang Tu." For positions in district-level SOEs, applicants should register on the designated recruitment websites. Currently, the total number of talents in the New Area has reached 920,000, and this recruitment drive is set to inject new momentum into the region's high-quality development.
