Qingdao News Network, November 24 (Reporter: Song Bohong) — The 7th China Theme Park Development Symposium and the 2025 Annual Conference of the China Theme Park Research Institute were recently held at Sun Yat-sen University. Representatives from industry and academia gathered to explore the transformation and upgrading path for China's theme parks, focusing on the core theme of "Innovation-Driven and High-Quality Development." The China Theme Park Research Institute also selected the year's outstanding theme parks based on a comprehensive evaluation of three core dimensions: investment scale, market influence, and operational performance.

Two flagship projects under Haichang Ocean Park have distinguished themselves from similar projects nationwide through continuous differentiated innovation investment and lean growth management practices. Haichang Qingdao Polar Ocean Park was honored as one of "China's Top 10 Best Theme Parks 2025," while Haichang Suzhou Yangcheng Peninsula Resort received the "2025 Excellent Innovation Practice Award for Theme Parks." These accolades highlight the exceptional capabilities of Haichang Cultural Tourism and its theme parks in product innovation, cultural integration, and operational enhancement.

In response to new trends in cultural and tourism consumption, Haichang Qingdao Polar Ocean Park, rooted in marine culture, has focused on product innovation, continuously updating its scenic content and upgrading the visitor experience. It has created a new landmark for Qingdao tourism, the "Light of the Pole: Qingdao Offshore Ferris Wheel." Since its opening in April this year, it has rapidly become a viral check-in spot online, thanks to its unique geographical location as the only near-sea Ferris wheel in the urban area and its triple stunning views: close-up views of waves crashing on reefs, mid-range views of the city's signature "red tiles and green trees," and distant views of Laoshan Mountain merging with the sea and sky. To date, it has received nearly 2 million visitors and garnered over 1 billion online exposures, becoming a key engine for activating both local and non-local tourist markets.

The launch of new products has not only upgraded the experience at Qingdao Polar Ocean Park from traditional "sightseeing" to an immersive experience across the entire park, but has also further solidified its benchmark position in the regional cultural and tourism landscape, with marine culture as its soul and immersive experience as its core.
