On April 11, the third session of the Aging-Friendly Environment Improvement Engineer Training Course was launched in Qingdao High-tech Zone, held outside Beijing for the first time. It was jointly organized by the Qingdao and Beijing Rehabilitation Assistive Devices Associations. With over 310 million elderly people in China, most choose to age in place at home, yet there is a severe shortage of aging-friendly facilities and qualified professionals. As Qingdao pushes forward with the construction of “China Wellness Bay,” this training aims to cultivate professional engineers with capabilities in assessment, fitting, and design, to fill the market gap and promote industry standardization.
