From the Yellow River to the Nile: Haier Egypt Ecological Park Writes a New Chapter for China’s Intelligent Manufacturing Going Global
Qingdao News Network – From the coast of the Yellow Sea to the banks of the Nile, under the Belt and Road Initiative, China’s manufacturing industry is embracing the world with a new posture. On the morning of April 13 (local time), a delegation from the Publicity Department of the CPC Shandong Provincial Committee, along with a Shandong cultural exchange delegation, visited the Haier Egypt Ecological Park in the 10th of Ramadan City in Cairo, conducting an on-site inspection of this landmark project of China-Egypt industrial cooperation.
Spanning 200,000 square meters, the park houses highly efficient intelligent production lines where Egyptian employees operate the equipment with great skill. Products such as AI ECO inverter air conditioners roll off the lines continuously and are exported to markets in Africa, the Middle East, and Europe. Phase I of the park commenced production in May 2024. Once Phase II is completed, the total annual production capacity will exceed 1.3 million units. Leveraging its cutting-edge technology and deep-rooted localized operations, Haier’s inverter air conditioners secured the largest market share in Egypt in 2025.
The Haier Egypt Ecological Park has already achieved localized production of a full range of products, including air conditioners, refrigerators, washing machines, and televisions. This not only fosters local talent development and job creation but also promotes the upgrading of Egypt’s industrial chain, injecting strong momentum into the high-quality development of Egypt’s manufacturing sector.
During the visit, the International Communication Center of Qingdao Daily Press, iQingDao, documented vivid scenes of Chinese and Egyptian employees working together, engaging in joint technology research, and experiencing cultural integration. During discussions between the two sides, both parties noted that the Haier Egypt Ecological Park offers replicable and scalable experience for Shandong enterprises seeking to deepen their presence in Egypt and expand into the African market. Shandong will continue to support enterprises in pursuing high-level Going Global strategies, leveraging the power of media to tell compelling stories of international industrial cooperation and mutual cultural enrichment.
