Recently, Ms. Lin, a tourist from Linyi, took the retro Ding-Ding trolley at Qingdao International Cruise Home Port, enjoying a route connecting several popular sightseeing spots. Since May 1, Qingdao Chengyun Cultural Tourism has adjusted the trolley route, starting from the cruise port parking lot, linking front-sea scenic spots and historical landmarks, and ending at the Tsingtao Beer Museum on Dengzhou Road. The 19-km route features onboard guides and offers hop-on, hop-off service with unlimited same-day rides.
The retro trolley serves the onshore tour needs of arriving cruise passengers while supporting port area development and old town revival, reflecting the port's efforts to build an integrated travel network.
Qingdao International Cruise Home Port is rapidly becoming a modern port-city landmark integrating cruise tourism, finance, commerce, and cultural leisure. It has initially established a multi-modal transport network covering metro, bus, long-distance bus, and cultural tourism.
In early May, the cruise port parking lot launched a long-distance bus stop, initially covering Binzhou, Dongying, Qixia, and Haiyang. This "one station, multiple stops" model eases transfers for residents and arriving passengers.
Located at a key urban expressway hub, the port area connects to the Jiaozhou Bay Tunnel and the under-construction Second Subsea Tunnel at its north and south ends, as well as the western starting points of the Jiaoning and Hangan Elevated Roads, ensuring easy access by car.
From public transit to cultural tourism integration, passenger transport extension, and expressway access, the port's integrated transport network is boosting passenger flow and cultural tourism consumption.
