“The scenery here is absolutely stunning. I live nearby and come here often—it’s photogenic from every angle.” As the Summer Solstice arrives, lotuses at Mohe Park in Jimo District are in full bloom, creating a breathtaking sight that draws numerous residents to admire the flowers and take photos.
To preserve this romantic summer scene, Ding Lingyue, a local resident, gathered with her close friends early in the morning. Using the elegant lotuses as a natural backdrop, they filmed a dance video to share on Douyin. Their graceful moves, set against the serene blooms, captivated many onlookers.
Stepping into Mohe Park feels like entering a flowing painting. By the lotus pond, lush green leaves stretch as far as the eye can see, dotted with blossoms at various stages of bloom. Sunlight filters through the leaves, casting dappled shadows across the water. Pink-and-white lotuses stand gracefully erect—some fully open, revealing tender yellow seed pods, while others remain as buds, proudly poised on their stems, gathering strength to unfurl. The interplay of delicate pink, elegant white, and vibrant red lotuses, complemented by the weeping willows along the bank, creates a picturesque scene. A gentle breeze rustles the pond, sending ripples through the verdant leaves; the lotuses sway and release a subtle fragrance, soothing the mind and spirit.
The lotus blooms not only beautify the environment but also provide a delightful retreat for Jimo residents to unwind. As temperatures rise, Mohe Park has become an ideal summer getaway. Many families choose to bring their children to the park on weekends and holidays, enjoying quality time together.
In recent years, Jimo District has adhered to the principles of prioritizing ecological conservation and pursuing green development, undertaking comprehensive upgrades to the Moshui River. Through water system improvements, landscape restoration, and vegetation enhancement, the district has created an ecological landscape characterized by “smooth waterways, clean water, green banks, and scenic beauty.” Today, the Moshui River has become an ecological corridor for living, leisure, fitness, and waterfront enjoyment for local residents.
