Qingdao Airport is expanding its network of international destinations. Starting October 27, the Qingdao-Xishuangbanna-Vientiane service will be newly launched, while the Qingdao-Jeju route will resume operation.
Vientiane, also known as Yongzhen, is the capital of Laos. Nestled on the left bank of the Mekong River, it faces Thailand across the water. The Qingdao-Xishuangbanna-Vientiane route offers a convenient air gateway for passengers from Qingdao and Shandong Province travelling to Laos. Flights operate every Tuesday, Thursday and Saturday. Passengers enjoy **one flight number, a single boarding pass and through baggage check-in**. The one-way flight takes around six hours.

The Qingdao-Jeju service runs every Tuesday and Saturday, with a one-way flight duration of 1 hour and 45 minutes. Jeju Island is a visa-free island destination for Chinese visitors. It boasts volcanic coastlines, crystal-clear waters, sprawling tea plantations, seaside cafés and authentic Korean cuisine. Flights depart Qingdao in the late afternoon, arriving in Jeju just in time for the island’s night scenery. Travellers from Qingdao and surrounding areas in Shandong can take direct flights conveniently.
With the resumption of the Jeju route, together with exclusive Shandong-origin routes to Busan, Daegu and Cheongju, plus further capacity increases for Seoul flights, Qingdao Airport will offer up to 25 daily flights to South Korea in the 2026 winter flight schedule (subject to airline official announcements). This marks an all-time high. The expanded air links connect Qingdao closely with South Korea’s key economic regions and consumer markets, consolidating Qingdao’s role as a pivotal hub for China-Republic of Korea exchanges.
