Qingdao government issued a new rule on March 15 that abolish the original requirement of housing area for settling in Qingdao and that someone (or his close relative) who has a house with legal property right in Qingdao can apply for settlement. It means that as long as there is housing in Qingdao, you can settle down.

Yesterday, Qingdao government issued a new rule that abolish the original requirement of housing area for settling in Qingdao and that someone (or his close relative) who has a house with legal property right in Qingdao can apply for settlement. It means that as long as there is housing in Qingdao, you can settle down.

According to the Economic Observer, Qingdao's original settlement policy was released in March 2018, in which clear requirements were made for housing area: over 90 square meters for a single set of commercial residence in urban areas (Shinan District, Shibei District, Laoshan District) and over 60 square meters in new areas (Qingdao West Coast New Area, Hongdao Economic Zone, Jimo District).
